Public Comment: Electronic Signature and Form Submission

NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

 

Background

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tacoma Housing Authority (THA) has moved many of its administrative processes online, including the completion of forms and obtaining signatures for documents. The agency is seeking to make these changes permanent by capturing these new processes in its primary policy document, the Administrative Plan.

THA invites comments on the following proposed changes to the Administrative Plan:

  1. Allow electronic form completion and scanned documents to verify program information.

THA will accept scanned documents to verify program information in all cases it is allowable to do so. 

  1. Allow the use of electronic signatures for documents and forms.

THA will use electronic signatures for documents and forms, except in cases where regulatory guidance prohibits the use of electronic signatures.

These changes are an enhancement to current administrative processes. THA will still make available and accept paper forms and documents.

 

How to submit a comment

THA will receive comments regarding these proposed changes during a 30-day public comment period beginning on December 18, 2020, through January 16, 2021.

The Tacoma Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will vote on the adoption of these policies on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.
