The 2Gen Family Engagement Program (2Gen) is a support program for Tacoma Housing families with middle school and high school-aged youth. The program offers wrap-around services focused on parents, children, and whole families, including:
- Early Childhood Development
- Family Goal Setting
- Social Emotional Supports
- Parenting Skills
- Childcare & Workforce Programs
2Gen emphasizes a two-generational approach to housing and family stability. The goal of the program is to create opportunities for families of middle and high school students to learn about and practice Social Emotional Learning (SEL) together.
Through various community partnerships focused on SEL, mentoring, and family skills support, the program aims to increase resources access for families living in THA’s West Portfolio communities. THA will build a robust partnership infrastructure based off family wants and needs, and THA’s Education Specialist will provide academic support help if needed.
Families will also have the opportunity to earn cash incentives by following through on core program features, such as completing a Family Goal Plan with a THA case worker or completing goals listed in the Family Goals Plan.
